Bacon Brussel Sprouts

Growing up one of my most hated vegetables were brussel sprouts. Even as an adult I can’t say I enjoy them, but the older I get the more willing to try things I have never had or never liked. My motto is, when all else fails add BACON! These little babies turned out crispy with tons of flavor and I actually liked them!

Ingredients:

1 cup fresh brussel sprouts cut into halves

1/3 lb of bacon

1 tablespoon butter

1-2 tablespoons bacon fat

Salt to taste

Instructions:

Cut bacon into pieces and cook until lightly browned but not completely cripsy, saving 2 tablespoons of bacon fat.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a medium pan over medium heat, add bacon fat and butter.

Once butter has melted add brussel sprout halves face down.

Season with salt and sear for about 2 minutes until golden brown and remove from heat.

Place brussel sprouts on a baking sheet and tin foil.

Season with more salt and evenly spread out bacon over sprouts.

Roast in oven for about 10-12 minutes until bacon is crispy and brussel sprouts are tender.

Enjoy!!
